In April 2010, Jesus knocked on the door with a boy in need and a call to die. Saying yes to adopting an angry, violent teenager they barely knew, the McSwains put their family of seven on the altar SO THAT God is praised. 
God calls us to THIS—to believe and trust Him in a covenant relationship that is experienced through spirit, faith and blood. Nick was an empty ark, impossibly dark and filled with sin and bad blood--lost and sinking fast...
God is calling to us all, even if we don't see the flames burning in the bush. He is inviting us to follow Him in a unique and personal way, so that His WILL can be understood. Following His voice leads to spiritual life unimaginable--personally, in family, friendships, in community, and in the body of Christ.
The Lord's Prayer is that God's Will SHALL BE done on earth as in heaven. In heaven, no one would think to disobey or dishonor Him, and there is unity and perfect peace. Here, "The eyes of the Lord rove to and fro over the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him."
"I am God, and there is none like Me. I declare the end from the beginning, and from ancient times what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and all My good pleasure I will accomplish.’" DONE! "...that they...be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity."
YOUR STORY: "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it."

His writing flows from a deep commitment to Christ and from the lived experience of adoption and family life with six children, three of whom are adopted. He seeks to call believers to a life of trust in Jesus, surrender to the Father, and invitation to the Holy Spirit. He lives with his family in North Carolina.
